Our chief compliance officer resides on a Medicare Contractor Advisory Panel, is a DME MAC (Cigna Government Services) committe member, has 20+ years of industry experience and provides CMS based audit reviews. Our director of client training has 30+ years of eye care industry experience and each of our trainers has at least 20 years experience in a combination of diagnostic, optical, lab and clinic administration to bring expertise to every area of your practice.
Jon Weeding, President:
Jon Weeding started OC in 2004 and has helped over 300 practices in 21 states realize increased profits and enhanced compliance. He has over 20 years of business and medical industry experience. An innovative entrepreneur, he built Microsurgery Distributing Inc. into one of the largest ear, nose and throat distributorships in the country before transitioning to the eyecare industry. Mobile Diagnostics, Inc., a mobile glaucoma scanning company was built into a leading regional provider prior to Midwest Surgical Services, a subsidiary of TLC Vision, acquiring the company in 2005. He is a proven business strategist and has an extensive background in practice building and working with Medicare and Third Party Providers. Jon resides near Minneapolis, MN with his wife Jennifer, and their two daughters.
Rob Marcella, Vice President:
Rob Marcella is our Vice President and works with our strategic partners to promote our mission of protecting our doctors by ensuring their compliance. Rob
joined OC as our National Accounts Manager and is now a partner/owner. Creating and fostering
relationships with providers to the eye care industry is a key focus. Rob has been in
the eye care industry for 12 years. He has worked with Essilor of
America in Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. Rob served as an Industrial eye
wear representative, Sales Consultant, and a Varilux and lab
consultant. Most recently Rob was the Regional Product Specialist in
Minnesota and Iowa. Rob is an ABO approved presenter and has facilitated
many presentations for eye care professionals for the last 7 years.
Karen Michaelson, ABOC, Director of Client Training:
Karen
Michaelson comes to Ophthalmic Consulting with 30 years of eye care and
optical experience. She has worked as an Optician, Office
Administrator, Regional Customer Service Manager for Essilor
Laboratories of America and for the past three years she has been a
Sales Consultant for Essilor. From the front desk to lane to the hand
off and close Karen brings an organized and unique way to create a
thriving practice. She will help you create fun and profitable

Joyce Ardrey, CPC, Chief Compliance Officer:
Joyce is a
Practice Management Consultant specializing in Optometry with over 20
years of experience in the medical coding and consulting field. Mrs.
Ardrey worked as the Business Administrator at a surgical co-management
clinic, as well as a consultant for a practice management consulting
group with clients in general medicine, ophthalmology, and dentistry,
prior to starting her consulting company, Consultation and
Implementation (C&I), in 1992. As a consultant, Mrs. Ardrey performs
compliance and chart audits, staff and physician education, and office
organization. Mrs. Ardrey has served on the Medicare Advisory Committee
(CAC) representing Optometry for Pinnacle Business Solutions Inc.
(Formerly Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas) the Medicare Carrier for
OK, NM, AR, LA, RI & MO since 1996. She continues to serve with the
new J4Mac, TrailBlazer Health Enterprises. She is also a member of the
DME JC POE (Provider Outreach and Education) with Cigna Health Systems.
Her areas of expertise include compliance and risk management, CPT©,
ICD-9 and HCPCS coding, DME MAC supplier requirements on Refractive
Lenses, E/M documentation requirements, Medicare guidelines, and chart
documentation. She lectures regularly at the OAOP Spring and Fall
Seminars and District Meetings and has presented at Pro-Tulsa Chapter
(currently serving as President) of the AAPC, The Coding Institute,
SWCO, MOA, AHEC and NSUOCO.
Rebecca Douglas, Director AR Recovery and Billing Services:

Administration and insurance billing for multiple locations and managing million dollar plus billings provides the ideal background to clear up problem claims, as well as the education you and your staff need to eliminate future issues.

Sharla Kleven provides years of experience in clinical insurance coding and billing. Editing claims prior to submission, reconciling, posting and transferring/billing patient responsibilities provides efficiencies to your clinic and frees your staff to focus on revenue generating tasks.
